Privacy Policy

5 Degrees is a movement to bring people back together in person. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've kept it short because we don't do much with your data.

What we collect

If you join the mailing list. We collect your name, your email address, an optional phone number, and — if you choose to select any — the interests you flag (investing, partnering, spreading the word, attending events). We also record which link brought you to us, so we know whether you found us from a flyer, a talk, or the website.

If you RSVP to an event. We collect your name, your email address, and how many people you're bringing, so we know how many to expect. RSVPing also adds you to our mailing list, so you'll hear about the next event — every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

That's the whole list of what you send us. We don't ask for a mailing address or payment details, there are no accounts to create, and we never ask for anything we don't actually use.

Saved in your own browser. When you RSVP, we save your name, email and party size in your browser's local storage so that coming back to the event page shows you what you already signed up for instead of an empty form. That stays on your device, we can't read it, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — things like IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested — for security and reliability. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics on this site.

How we use it

• To email you about 5 Degrees events, ways to get involved, and news worth sharing.
• To follow up personally if you flagged interest in investing or partnering.
• To confirm your RSVP, remind you before the event, and tell you where to go.
• To keep the site running securely.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. Ever.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our mailing list. They process your information on our behalf and only for that purpose:

• HighLevel — our customer relationship and email platform. Your name, email, and interest selections are stored there.
• Vercel — hosting for this website.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you want to hear from us. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete you and we'll remove you from the list.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
• Access, correct, or delete — email us and we'll tell you what we hold, fix it, or delete it.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Ask us and we'll honor them.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we'll delete them.

Changes

If we start doing something new with your information — text messages, event ticketing, an app account — we'll update this policy before we do it, and change the date at the top of this page.
