These terms apply when you use this website. They're deliberately plain — this is an informational site with a mailing-list signup, not a marketplace, so there isn't much to agree to. By using the site, you accept what's below.

What this site is

This site describes 5 Degrees — who we are, what we're building, and how to get involved — and lets you join our mailing list. It doesn't sell anything, take payments, host accounts, or let you post content.

Joining the list

When you submit the form you're asking us to email you. Please give us your own name and email address, and one you actually check. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send. How we handle what you give us is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Events

Anything this site says about events is a description of what we do, not a promise that a particular event will happen, be available in your area, or have space for you. Details change, and events can be rescheduled or cancelled. Specific terms for a specific event will be given to you at the time you register for it.

Using the site fairly

• Don't submit the form with someone else's details, or with details that aren't real.
• Don't try to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the site.
• Don't use anything here in a way that breaks the law or infringes someone's rights.

Our content

The 5 Degrees name, logo, text, images, and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You're welcome to link to the site and to share it — please do. Don't copy it wholesale, resell it, or present it as your own.

Links to other sites

Where we link out — to a research source, for example — we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them.

No warranties

The site is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be online, error-free, or up to date. Any statistics we cite are attributed to their source, and you should check the source if the number matters to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, 5 Degrees isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits any liability that can't legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms as 5 Degrees grows — particularly once events are ticketed or the app launches. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA.
